Oy LAI-MU Ab is a metal industry company based in Rauma. We manufacture LM TRAC multifunction machines and work attachments, as well as safety cabins for various types of machinery.

The production of safety cabins began in the late 1960s and still forms a significant part of the company’s operations. Manufacturing of multifunction machines started in 1987 with a single model. Today, the range includes four multifunction machines of different sizes.

Operating Policy

We take our customers’ needs, wishes, and requirements into account in all our operations. We deliver competitive products to our customers reliably, in accordance with agreed schedules and orders.

The core principles of our operations are quality, customer orientation, operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and skilled and motivated personnel. Satisfied customers create the foundation for long-term operations and profitability.

We minimize waste and emissions generated by our operations. We continuously develop our activities in accordance with a quality management system based on the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 3834-2 standards. In all our operations, we comply with applicable laws, regulations, and established requirements.

Management has set quality and environmental objectives through which we contribute to improving the level of environmental protection. Management reviews ensure that the operating policy remains up to date, objectives are achieved, and any necessary changes are identified. Every employee recognizes their responsibilities and contributes to achieving these goals.

Occupational safety is our highest priority. In workplace safety, our goal is zero accidents, achieved through employee orientation and training, as well as by minimizing operational risks and addressing identified shortcomings. We also take environmental impacts into account in our operations and quality control processes.

Respecting and caring for the environment

Through significant equipment investments, we aim to continue producing high-quality results efficiently in the future. The latest investments have focused on a machining centre and a fibre laser automation system. Skilled personnel have been recruited despite challenging times.

The LM Trac multifunction machine range has been renewed to meet the latest requirements. The engines in all size categories have been carefully reviewed, as the machines are often used in urban environments and public events. At the same time, control systems across all models have been upgraded to increasingly versatile technology.

The range includes machines suitable for every need. Models 287 and 387 are agile all-rounders for city centres and parks. Lawn care, sweeping, ploughing, and sanding are their most common applications, but non-chemical weed control methods are becoming increasingly in demand. Weed brushes and flame–infrared–steam combination systems have already been used on LM Trac machines for several years in the Central European market.

In the Nordic countries, efficient equipment is needed for snow pushing and loading. The Oy LAI-MU Ab range includes purpose-designed articulated machines in the under 4-ton class (model 587) and under 6-ton class (model 687). LAI-MU also has strong expertise in cabin manufacturing, and accordingly, LM Trac cabins have been developed toward a new level of comfort. The cabins of models 587 and 687 are now part of the same series, with ergonomics refined based on user needs, generous space, and very moderate noise levels (68 dB).
